Growing up in Wisconsin, Mary never quite felt seen—but comedy changed everything. What began as a way to connect became a lifelong pursuit of joy, proving that humor isn’t just an escape, but a way to be truly heard.

Mary’s heartfelt stand-up has taken her across the U.S. and overseas, including a recent stop in Ireland. She’s performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Dry Bar Comedy, and delivered a TED Talk. As an actor, her girl-next-door charm has landed her roles on Friends, Grey’s Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, NCIS, The West Wing, and Netflix’s Prank Encounters. On the big screen, she’s shared scenes with Jodie Foster, Reese Witherspoon, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

Trained at The Second City and The Groundlings, Mary has brought her sketch comedy to Ellen and The Tonight Show. She hosts monthly for Jay Leno live, bringing her signature blend of humor and heart to every performance. Offstage, she spreads the joy of comedy through workshops for all ages, writes and illustrates children’s books, and treasures time with her 19-year-old daughter.

How The Acting Game Has Changed

Join Mary Gallagher as she takes you on a deeply personal journey through three decades of acting in Los Angeles – navigating the highs and lows of a changing industry, the collapse of traditional entertainment models, and her own personal struggles through divorce and reinvention.
